Summary

The Kitchen Lead at Devil’s Club Brewing Company is a leadership position under the Kitchen Manager responsible for maintaining the daily, back-of-house Kitchen operations and upholding adherence to health and safety standards set forth by the Kitchen Manager while contributing to an excellent, memorable guest experience. 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Kitchen Manager in: 

    • Holding back-of-house staff accountable for completion of daily tasks and operational expectations 

    • Covering Kitchen Crew shifts when necessary to ensure proper staffing

    • Training new employees to ensure consistency

    • Leading Kitchen Staff by example in adherence to the Employee Handbook

    • Maintaining organization of the Kitchen to ensure first-in-first-out ingredients and smooth turnover of inventory

    • Maintaining adequate stock of all Kitchen supplies and consumables by reporting low inventory to Kitchen Manager

  • Taking responsibility for the Kitchen Manager’s duties while the Kitchen Manager is unavailable

  • Upholding health and safety standards in the Kitchen in adherence with local and state regulations 

  • Ensuring adherence to company cleanliness and organization standards by executing cleaning schedules

  • Creating new, interesting kitchen specials to drive customer interest 

  • Upholding the highest possible standards of consistency and appearance of food products

  • Ensuring the highest possible customer satisfaction by producing food items quickly and efficiently and interacting with customers positively and promptly

  • Assisting front-of-house staff when possible to contribute to a positive team environment 

Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as determined by the needs of the operation, a minimum of 4 Kitchen Crew shifts per week

  • Ability to handle fast-paced, dynamic work environment

  • Ability to lift, push and pull 50 lbs without assistance

  • 21+ years of age

  • Current TAPS and AK Food Workers Card or ability to acquire within 30 days of employment

  • Obtain ServSafe Manager Certification within 60 days of hire

Compensation

  • Paid Time Off Program

    • 2 - 4 weeks annually based on seniority

  • Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years off

  • Tips as outlined in the tip pooling agreement 

  • Health Insurance: 50% employee coverage paid by Devil’s Club Brewing

  • $150/month Taproom spending stipend

  • Beer and shift meal on workdays

Pay: $18-$20 per hour starting wage based on experience
